PART TIME LEAD
EVENT COORDINATOR & STYLIST
APRIL 2024 - NOVEMBER 2024

The role of a MAVEN Event Coordinator is to ensure the event runs smoothly as planned throughout the wedding day. There are times when you may be Lead or Assistant to the tasks that need to be completed to ensure a successful event. Tasks are extremely varied and depend on the particulars of the event. All events will require the Lead Coordinator to work directly with the client to set up and establish a timeline, communicate with the vendors all load in/load out procedures, and ensure all décor is set up and ready. When it comes to weddings, Lead Coordinators may be called upon to distribute personal flowers, set up/tear down equipment and/or decorations, greet vendors, cue musicians, allocate final payments/gratuities, attend to guest, vendor, and wedding party questions, and troubleshoot as needed while also ensuring the timeline is met. The Lead Coordinator may also be responsible for closing out the event at the end of the night. The Lead Coordinator is in charge of planning the Assistant Coordinator's shift if they are also at the event and will assign tasks as needed throughout the day. The Lead Coordinator will also present the Assistant Coordinator with a specific Close-Out Checklist before departing for the night and will be available by cell phone to answer any follow-up questions. The role of the Assistant Coordinator is to support the Lead Coordinator throughout the wedding day. Assistant Coordinators will not need to be at meetings prior to the event day, but will need to be aware of the responsibilities of the team and how they can assist.

Event Coordinators generally work a handful of events throughout the season. Typically, Lead Coordinators are scheduled on Fridays, Saturdays, and possibly Sundays. Shifts last for 12 hours on average and generally end between 11:00 pm - 1:00 am. However, this is the events world (which is anything but typical!) so Coordinators must be prepared for varied schedules. When working as Assistant Coordinator, shifts last from 8-10 hours. Scheduling is determined by the company owner or Supervisor based on specific needs. Coordinators can expect to work as few as 6 events to as many as 10 events throughout the summer season (April through November) and must be available for on-call shifts, as well. Event Coordinator positions are part-time positions. Compensation is dependent upon experience but starts at $16/hour + mileage reimbursement at $.50/mile outside of a 40mile radius from your home.
